Twenty Paws Rescue: Our May Rescue Partner

Twenty Paws Rescue: Our May Rescue Partner

Date issued: By: Sophia Sanchez

May has arrived and we are very excited to announce our newest Rescue Partner.  Please give a warm welcome to Twenty Paws Rescue.

“Until every shelter cage is empty, Twenty Paws will be their voice.”

Twenty Paws is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization located in Brooklyn, New York and focuses on rescuing animals along the east coast of the United States, in addition to international rescue efforts as well. Founded by two women, Linda & Rachel, they share a passion for saving the forgotten, abused and the left behind.

RESCUE PROGRAMS

FOSTERS IN REHABILITATION:  Animals within this program are currently sick, have physical ailments or behavioral issues and are receiving care, treatment and/or training and are not yet available for adoption.

FOSPICE DOGS:  The dogs within this program are terminally ill and will never be available for adoption.  They are receiving the love and care they should have received their entire lives, within a loving foster home, with the time they have remaining.

TPR SOUTH KOREA:  These animals are rescued from South Korean puppy mills, dog meat farms, abusive situations and other unimaginable horrors.

TPR CHINA:  Animals rescued from Chinese puppy mills, slaughterhouses and otherwise dangerous situations.

TPR INDIA:  Twenty Paws works closely with an organization called KAW (Kannan Animal Welfare) to save abused and neglected dogs from India.

Each of these programs takes an incredible amount of funding in order to function effectively to save as many animals as possible.  It costs money to not only rescue, but to provide the medical care and training that many of these animals need.  Add in transportation costs for those being rescued internationally, it becomes critical to receive funding in order to continue these life saving operations.  For the animals within each of these programs, donors have the option to sponsor an animal of their choice.  And the money donated will go specifically towards whatever that animal needs.

Twenty Paws is a fully volunteer-based rescue and depends heavily on their dedicated team of volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters.  And while they focus primarily on bully breeds, they are not a breed specific rescue.  They provide refuge and unconditional love to dogs and cats of all sizes, ages and temperaments.
